THIS COURSE IS FOR:

Workers who provide therapeutic and program related support to allied health professionals. The workers is required to conduct therapeutic and program related activities under the guidance of an allied health professional. Supervision may be direct, indirect or remote and must occur within organisational requirements. The worker is required to identify client circumstances that need additional input from the allied health professional.

Elective Units are to be packaged as follows:

  1. For the award of this qualification (either generic or tailored) a minimum of 5 electives must be selected fro a list of Allied Health electives
  2. For the award of a tailored qualification, for example, to address work requirements in the area of physiotherapy, all electives must be selected from the mandatory elective skill set listed for that area of work

WHAT DOES THE COURSE PROVIDE?

Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance is designed to provide vocational education and training necessary to gain basic knowledge and skills common across all business roles.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS QUALIFICATION?

On completion of this course you will be qualified to work as an assistant in Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Podiatry, Speech pathology and Allied Health.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

The following competency units should be either achieved before this qualification or must be undertaken as part of the qualification:

This qualification is also available as an Australian Apprenticeship.
To be eligible for the Australian Apprenticeship option you must be employed either full-time or a minimum of 20 hours per week.

This qualification is available as a funded Australian Apprenticeship for full and part-time new employees who qualify under the guidelines.

This qualification is also available as an Existing Employee Australian Apprenticeship for full and part-time employees. Commonwealth Government incentives may be available to employers. If you are eligible, a commercial fee not subject to the fees cap is applicable.

TRAINING DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT:

This training is offered, either by face to face, work based or flexible distance learning. Assessment is competency based.
Your Trainer/Assessor will provide you with the information required for this qualification.

STUDENT SUPPORT

Our students are our main priority and as such, we endeavour to support them in their studies. A variety of student support methods is offered, from ongoing one on one tutorial support as arranged between Tutor and student by making an appointment, to group support when required. A Tutor is available to answer and assist with any questions the student may have.

QUALIFICATION

Successful completion of this course provides you with the Certificate iv in Allied Health Assistance. Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.
